Some practical skills of AutoCAD2000

AutoCAD is the most widely used CAD software at home and abroad at present. AutoCAD R14 has rich drawing commands, powerful functions, three-dimensional modeling functions and good user interface, which are widely welcomed by the majority of engineering and technical personnel. On the basis of AutoCAD R14, Autodesk company has launched a new generation of design product AutoCAD 2000, which is more powerful and can cooperate with each other. The author gained some experience in AutoCAD teaching and software development, but summarized it at this time for your reference when using AutoCAD 2000

1. The size of crosshairs changes

--- when drawing engineering drawings, it is necessary to draw according to the projection law. In order to facilitate "length alignment, height alignment and width equality", the crosshairs size can be adjusted during drawing. That is, use the options command or select the drop-down menu tools/options to open the options dialog box and find the display tab. By modifying the percentage between the cursor and the screen size in the crosshair size area or dragging the slider, you can change the default value of 5% to make the crosshair size of the drawing window larger

2. Draw thick and solid lines

--- the national standard for technical drawings stipulates the line type in mechanical drawings. There are many ways to draw thick and solid lines with AutoCAD 2000. The easiest way is to use the free lweight command that provides automotive designers with "do whatever they want" design. This command can be typed directly on the command line, or select the drop-down menu format/lineweight. In the dialog box that appears, set the required lineweight, the default lineweight is 0.25mm, and use the slider to adjust the display scale of the line width on the screen. This command is transparent. You can also click the tool icon layers in the object properties toolbar to set the lineweight in the layer Property Management dialog box as you set the color and linetype. Therefore, when the plotter plots, there is no need to adjust the pen width or lineweight

3. Draw curves

--- when drawing drawings, we often encounter the problem of drawing intersection lines, intersection lines and other curves. Manual drawing is very troublesome. You need to find special points and a certain number of general points, and the error of the connected curve is large. It is easy to draw plane curve or space curve with AutoCAD 2000

4. Control entity display

--- AutoCAD 2000 commonly uses keyboard to input three system variables to control entity display

isolines: by default, the entity is displayed in wireframe mode, and each surface on the entity is expressed in the form of grid lines. The number of grid lines is controlled by the system variable. The effective value is 0-2047, and the initial value is 4. The larger the value of the grid line, the easier it is to observe the entity, but the waiting time for display is longer

dispsilh: this variable controls the display of entity contour edges. The value is 0 or 1. The default value is 0. Contour edges are not displayed. If it is set to 1, contour edges are displayed

facetres: this variable adjusts the smoothness of the entity after hide, shade and render. The valid values are 0.01-10.0, and the default value is 0.5. The larger the value is, the smoother the display is, but the waiting time for the display is longer when the hide, shape, and render commands are executed. Usually, the value is increased when the final output is made

5. Open multiple drawing files at the same time

--- during the drawing process, users need to observe multiple drawing files at the same time. AutoCAD 2000 provides the function of opening multiple drawing files at the same time in one window (see Figure 5). Select the drop-down menu window and select overlap, horizontal or vertical arrangement of drawing files. It also provides that the graphics in one graphics file can be directly dragged to another graphics file with the mouse, which greatly facilitates the design work

6. Modify graphic attributes

--- in the drawing, the attribute of an object in the drawing can be easily and conveniently modified by using the feature window. Use the properties command or select the drop-down menu tools/properties, or use the hotkey ctrl+1 to open the properties dialog box and select the modification items according to the table to modify

7. Design center management
